The Southern Hills Early Learning Lab, SHELL, a morning pre-school, was established in the early 1960's.  It specializes in meeting the educational, emotional, social and physical needs of three and four year old children.  We strive to prepare children for Kindergarten and the years beyond.

Our program offers a 2-day program for three year olds and a 3-day or 5-day program for four year olds. Hours are 9:00-12:00 September through May. Our staff includes 2 teachers with Education degrees, a director, a music teacher, and a gym teacher. 

Our daily schedule includes readiness activities, art, large and small motor activities, circle time, social studies units with language arts and math tie ins, outdoor play and snack time.  Rooms are equipped with numerous educational activities, art easels, house keeping area, book corner, and block play area. 

SHELL is now offering Extended Day every day.  This allows children to remain at school every afternoon until 3:00.  Early arrival will be available for children at 8:30. 

Classes at SHELL are small enough to provide individual attention but large enough to offer the important learning experience of working within a group.
