Adopt-A-Family: Provide and/or help deliver food and gifts at Christmas for families in need in the community.

Backpack Ministry: Provides weekend and Holiday food for approximately 250 children at Arlington Elementary. Packers an donations are always needed for this very impactful ministry. Email Mike Blodgett to get involved.

Books for Children: An outreach program that serves children from birth to age 12 in Jessamine and Fayette Counties. The goal of this ministry is to give new books to children who might otherwise might not be able to own books.

Habitat for Humanity: Southern Hills participates in building houses for persons with housing needs through our local Habitat for Humanity program.

Hispanic Ministries: This experience is for those who want to learn conversational Spanish and experience another culture. You can share in this opportunity to learn another language just for fun or as an introduction to a new ministry opportunity.

Methodist Homes of Kentucky for Children and Youth: Methodist Homes of Kentucky have campuses in Versailles and Owensboro that care for more than 900 children who have experienced abuse, neglect, abandonment, or trauma. Southern Hills partners with Methodist Homes in a variety of ways to further the care provided to these children.

Nathaniel Mission: For 57 years, Nathaniel Mission has been meeting the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of the residents in Lexington's Irishtown and Davis Bottoms neighborhoods. Opportunities for service abound - please contact Nathanial Mission or visit their website.

Red Bird Mission: The Red Bird Mission, guided by Christ, empowers individuals and advocates justice by providing spiritual, educational, health and community outreach ministries in Appalachia. The mission is located in Clay County, Kentucky.

Room In the Inn: Southern Hills participates with other Lexington churches to help the homeless throughout the coldest months of the year (November through March). Hospitality hosts, cooks, van drivers, set-up assistance and donations are needed to support this ministry. For the 2010-2011 schedule of volunteers click here.

Guatemala Mission Trips: Come with us on our annual mission trip to Guatemala to share life with our brothers and sisters in another country! Help build homes, provide healthcare, and nurture a relationship we are forming with the people of Magdalena, Guatemala.
