At Southern Hills we gather to worship in community to exalt God through Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. We present God's word in order to make relevant God's message in our everyday lives. We strive to make worship meaningful and expressive through well-planned liturgy, scripture, preaching, singing, and musical instruments. We are prudent and intentional about incorporating the visual and performing arts to exemplify the spirit of Christ, his life and teachings.

Children and youth in grades 3-8 are encouraged to serve as acolytes for Sunday morning worship and for special worship services. Acolytes are trained in the ancient Christian tradition of lighting the altar candles, placing the Holy Bible on the lectern, reverencing the cross, and tolling the bell for the start of worship. For adults preparing Holy Communion sacraments of juice and wafers for congregants 8 times per year.
